Triseum and NAEA Advance Art Education and Game-Based Learning Programs

Bryan, TX – November 11, 2016 – The NASSCOM Game Developers Conference (NGDC), which is underway in India, features an extraordinary line-up of industry gaming veterans and indie developers alike. Triseum CEO and gaming icon André Thomas has been invited to lead a presentation on innovation in game-based learning, highlighting key insights and lessons learned from designing and developing immersive gaming experiences for Art History and calculus students.   “Game-based learning can draw students into a motivating virtual environment where they want to connect with an understand the subject matter in a more meaningful way so they can progress through the game,” noted Thomas. “At Triseum, we are harnessing the power of games to bring course content to life for students.”   Thomas will explore the process of developing game-based learning experiences, referencing his team’s key learnings throughout the production of ARTé: Mecenas, Triseum’s Art History game, and Variant, its newly launched calculus game. He will talk about the challenges they faced, as well as the gaming strategies, academic standards, subject matter relevancy and learning outcomes that came into play, ensuring Triseum’s academic games reflect both the quality and interaction students and faculty expect.   Celebrating its 8th year, NGDC is India’s largest and best known confluence of game developers. It provides opportunities for creative collaboration among thought leaders in the gaming industry with sessions focused on indies, game design, game art, production, marketing/product management, tech, virtual reality and applied games. Gaming professionals are gathering at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre November 10th-12th.   “I’m looking forward to sharing our games and insights with my peers, many of whom are considered to be among the best in their fields. NGDC fosters an exceptional global environment for all of us to celebrate achievements in gaming, share the lessons we have learned along the way, and inspire us with new ideas to advance gaming in unprecedented ways,” said Thomas.
